Degauss Problems.

First, degauss problems only exist in direct view televisions. Projection TVs do not have degauss problems.

The colors are not smoothly consistent across the screen. There may be color swirls, or the corners may have different colors. Many times these problems are seen after the set is moved or speakers have been placed near the set. Move the speakers if that is the case.

This is a result of the earth's magnetic field.  TV sets have low power degauss coils to correct minor problems. If the set has been off for five or ten minuets the circuit should engage.

Sometimes the parts in the degauss circuits fail and the circuit does not work.

Said it before, but Murphy's Law applies.
